As artificial intelligence approaches capabilities once thought exclusively human, phenomenology reveals a critical distinction: between processing information and inhabiting a world. AI’s current trajectory, however technically impressive, remains fundamentally alienated from the structures of consciousness that phenomenology has spent a century articulating—and this gap may be unbridgeable.
